Environment Canada has issued a Tornado Watch for the region.  The weather agency says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds gusting to 110km/hr, nickel to twoonie sized hail and heavy rain are also possible.

The severe thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and continue into the evening.
