Early this morning, the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Dept. responded to a structure fire on Aspdin Road. Crews from Station 1 and Station 5 arrived to find a single-story home engulfed in flames, with the roof fully ablaze.

Firefighters worked quickly to suppress the fire, but the building was completely destroyed.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, though the owner's pet cat did perish in the blaze.

Damage is estimated at over $500,000, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
