In a move aimed at strengthening healthcare in the region, Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith yesterday announced $6.6 million in new funding for local hospitals.

This includes a $2.5 million funding boost for Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare and nearly $1.8 million for the West Parry Sound Health Centre, along with an additional $2.1 million in one-time funding to address current pressures.

Smith emphasized that this funding reflects the government's ongoing commitment to rural and small-town hospitals, ensuring better accessibility and quality care for communities across Parry Sound, Bracebridge, and Huntsville.

Smith says that since June 2022, over $527 million has been allocated to healthcare in the region.
