OPP are warning the public about a new fraud trend where scammers show up in person to collect cash or bank cards.

Police say that yesterday, a victim reported receiving a call from a number that appeared to be their bank, claiming their cards were compromised and that a courier would pick them up.

A person later arrived at the victim's home to collect the cards. The victim, feeling uneasy, quickly locked her accounts and reported the incident, preventing any theft.

Police urge everyone to slow down, verify information, and double-check any suspicious requests to protect themselves from fraud.
