Police (OPP) have arrested and charged 52-year-old Garret Allison of Orillia, after receiving numerous calls reporting a pick-up truck driving the wrong way on Highway 11 near Stephenson Road 1 in Bracebridge.

Police say that on Friday, several concerned members of the public reported the vehicle nearly caused multiple head on collisions, including one with police. 

Police conducted a traffic stop and report there were no injuries as a result of the wrong way driver. 

Allison was charged with:

• Operation While Impaired
• Dangerous operation
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Failure or refusal to comply with demand
• Mischief
• Drive wrong way-divided highway HTA, and
• Failing to stop for police  

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Bracebridge Court on April 25^th.
