O.P.P. are investigating a death on Sans Souci Island in Georgian Bay.

Police say that on Saturday, around 6 p.m., officers responded to reports of a cottage fire and gunfire on the island.

The O.P.P. Marine Unit, along with various specialized teams, arrived to find a cottage engulfed in flames and a deceased individual at the scene.

The investigation is being led by the West Parry Sound O.P.P. Crime Unit, with support from O.P.P. Forensic Identification Services and the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Details remain limited as the investigation continues.
