In Gravenhurst, a 52-year-old man faces multiple charges following a break and enter at a grocery store on First Street North.

Police say that yesterday, at around 10:20 p.m., OPP responded to a call after the store had closed.

The suspect, identified as Terry Traynor of Gravenhurst, entered through an employee door and tried to steal goods.

During the incident, Traynor assaulted an employee. Police arrived quickly and arrested Traynor on-site.

He is charged with break and enter, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, robbery with violence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstructing an officer, and failing to comply with probation.

Traynor remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.
