Polar Bear Dip returns on January 1st
The Huntsville Polar Bear Dip is going ahead on January 1st despite the somewhat milder weather.
Instead of the traditional approach of jumping through a hole in the ice, organizers say this year will feature a unique and daring alternative.
Participants will embark on a frosty adventure with a beachfront entry. Dippers are encouraged to charge into the chilly waters directly from the shore, embracing the thrill of the plunge without the need for a designated ice hole. Organizers say it will add an extra element of polar courage and a touch of unconventional winter fun to the traditional polar bear dip.
The event takes place at noon, on New Year’s Day at Hidden Valley Resort with proceeds going to Community Living Huntsville.
