The Town of Huntsville is moving to designate the Newholm Community Heritage Centre, located on Concession 4 & 5 Road West, as a property of cultural heritage value.

Formerly Holy Trinity Church, the building is a rare example of a wooden pioneer church and holds historical significance. The site has been home to two churches since 1877 and served as a social hub for over 40 pioneer families.

Notably, the baptismal font, hand-carved by William Morgan, was exhibited at the 1890s Chicago World Fair.

The town advises that if anyone objects to the designation, they must do so in writing by December 4th.
