Matt Richter Is the New Ontario Green Party's Deputy Leader
Ontario Greens Deputy Leader Matt Richter has been nominated as the party's candidate for Parry Sound-Muskoka in the upcoming provincial election.
An elementary school teacher in the Trillium Lakelands District School Board, Richter has been a strong advocate for Green policies since he first ran for MPP in 2007, increasing support in the riding and securing over 40% of the vote in the 2022 election.
Richter expressed excitement about fighting for more affordable homes, better healthcare, and protections for communities, while criticizing Doug Ford’s Conservatives for taking rural areas for granted.
Ontario Greens Deputy Leader Aislinn Clancy praised Richter as a community champion, and Green Leader Mike Schreiner highlighted his role in building momentum for the party.
Richter says he looks forward to working with his team to prioritize people over profits in Ontario.
