District of Muskoka Chair, John Klinck has been appointed to Vice Chair at Mayors and Regional Chairs Council of Ontario or (MARCO).  The announcement was made yesterday.

MARCO brings Ontario regional chairs and large, single-tier city mayors together to discuss common issues of concern, including provincial and federal matters.

Klinck has also been re-appointed to serve as their representative on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Board of Directors.  FCM is the national voice of municipal government, with 2,000 members representing 90 per cent of Canadians. 

Klinck says he’s very honoured and excited to take on leadership roles with both the MARCO and FCM Boards. 

He said “It is a great opportunity to share Muskoka’s perspective at a provincial and national level.”
