More than 100 people gathered in Huntsville for the 4th annual Orange Shirt Day. River Mill Park was filled with orange shirts, flags, and ribbons as attendees commemorated the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Main Street was closed for a march past Town Hall, followed by speeches, smudging ceremonies, and songs back at the park. Participants honored the tragic history of residential school survivors, with emotional accounts shared by organizer, Joyce Crone, a second-generation residential school survivor.

Ribbons bearing the names of children who attended residential schools were tied to trees in remembrance.

Later in the evening, a screening of the award-winning documentary *The Nature of Healing: Voices of Mohawk Institute Survivors* took place at the Algonquin Theatre.
