Around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Huntsville and Lake of Bays Firefighters responded to a structure fire on South Portage Road.

Crews from Station 1 Huntsville and Station 4 Baysville, with 20 firefighters and five trucks, arrived on scene to find a small fire inside a wall that had spread to a nearby wood cabinet.

Fortunately, three construction workers working on the home's exterior heard smoke alarms and used a fire extinguisher and water to help control the blaze until crews arrived.

The fire was caused by an electrical malfunction involving a wall outlet and is being classified as accidental.
