Changes are happening at Huntsville Place Mall.   Giant Tiger who operates discount stores in Gravenhurst and across the country have announced that they will be opening a new store at the mall in Huntsville.

The new store is scheduled to open in June 2023.

According to tenants of the mall, the space is to be taken from the middle of the mall’s common area. And while no information has been provided, some smaller stores will be moving out of the mall.

The property owner has not returned any calls to provide comment.

Giant Tiger is a Canadian owned family discount store providing family fashions, groceries, and everyday needs.

Established in 1961 in Ottawa’s Byward Market, the privately held company now has over 260 locations across Canada and employs approximately 10,000 employees.

The company says all Giant Tiger locations are locally owned and operated by a team member.
