The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is reminding residents and visitors that there is a TOTAL FIRE BAN in effect for Muskoka, The Almaguin Highlands and Algonquin Highlands.

Mike Vadla, Fire prevention officer for the Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Dept. say that even though some areas received some precipitation, other areas received very little. Therefore, the FIRE BAN remains in effect.

No fires of any type are permitted. No fires are permitted for cooking or warmth and no fireworks are allowed.
