Last night, crews from Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Station 1 and Station 3 were dispatched to a report of smoke at Deerhurst Resort shortly before 7pm.

A fire was discovered in the bathroom of one of the suites. A light fixture has been determined as the cause. Fire and smoke damage was contained to the unit.

Damage estimated at $15,000.

Resort operations resumed shortly after the fire was extinguished.
