The District of Muskoka swore in Archie Buie as an Alternate Council member on September 21, 2022.

Buie, a Bracebridge resident for more than 50 years, has served as a Town Councillor for the Draper Ward for the past two terms.

Bracebridge Mayor, Rick Maloney congratulated Councillor Buie in his new role, at the Bracebridge Council meeting.

The role of the Alternate Council member is to act in place of District Council members that are not able to attend a meeting, for the duration of the term of Council.

Buie can replace District Council members if needed, until a new Council is formed in the October municipal election.
