Downtown Bracebridge might soon have one-of-kind bike racks.

During the most recent Bracebridge general committee meeting, councillors heard plans by the Bracebridge Business Improvement Area to install several bike racks in downtown Bracebridge shaped like the Town’s iconic Silver Bridge. There are also plans to install several more bike racks with a more typical design. 

The Town is also considering becoming part of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. Stretching over 3000km, the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail is a route connecting 140 communities and First Nations in the Great Lakes region.

Coun. Rick Maloney said participating would mean identifying certain roads within the municipality to create a larger route that will connect Muskoka to the Great Lakes. He said there will be no cost to the Town of Bracebridge.
